Preparing for your Home Retreat

The Home Retreat is almost here, so what do you need to do to prepare for your weekend morning sessions?

Here are some hints and tips from us and our sponsors, MindfulnessUK and BeSophro to help you enjoy the experience.

Plan to bring as much simplicity and ease to your day as possible. The retreat programme is designed to support your well-being, with breaks and time for movement. There will be plenty of interactive practice sessions, to build on your practice.

Why not start your day with a simple but nourishing breakfast from food expert, Nicola Moore? She has given us two delicious breakfast recipes to share.

The Online Experience

You will be provided with log in details to our Home Retreat Platform in advance and will be able to log in from 8.30am on Saturday 12th June. We will remind you of your log in details on Saturday morning before 8.30am – if you have not received our email, please check your Junk folder and please do not hesitate to contact us if you still aren’t able to find these.

You will be able to access all the morning sessions via our platform. We would recommend using Chrome to log into the platform.

Please ensure that you have reliable internet access in your retreat space so that you can access the programme.

Your Space

We’d recommend having a dedicated quiet, private sitting and walking space that will help you keep your attention focused and enhance your practice.

There will be breaks, however, please have some water or a drink available to keep you hydrated.

If there are other people in your household, ask for their support so that you can gain the most from your retreat, without interruption or distraction. Understand that some aspects of your experience during a home retreat will not be as contained as a retreat away from the home, however, enjoy being in your own safe, relaxed space.

The Sessions

Before the retreat begins, sit in your practice space, settle yourself, and set your intention for the retreat.

Join each session a few minutes early, so that you are not rushed and maintain calm.

Please turn your phone or other devices off during the Retreat so that you can fully immerse yourself in the experience, without distractions.

The sessions will be available for 30 days after the Retreat has ended, so you will be able to revisit sessions and repeat practices. You will be able to use the same log in details to access the programme.

Sunday’s Sophrology Session

Come as you are. Sophrology is a personal practice that meets you wherever you are in life.

All you need is a chair and an open mind. There’s no need to prepare anything else, we’ll look after you.

Think about what’s holding you back in life or what you want to achieve. If you can identify this, you’re already a step ahead. If you don’t know, don’t worry this is among the many things Sophrology will help you uncover.

There’s nothing to succeed at with Sophrology. Just come with an open heart and a little bit of self-love.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Retreat
