Sophie has been a fully accredited Mindfulness teacher for the past five years and has been practicing for the past nine. She has found this to be transformative in her own life, particularly in relation to stress and living with chronic pain, and is passionate about sharing its many deep benefits with others.
Sophie is an associate teacher for Breathworks and regularly teaches both Mindfulness for Stress and Health courses at the West London Buddhist Centre; the Breathworks Centre of Excellence in London. Sophie is also a Healthcare Professionals and Workplace Associate for Breathworks, delivering tailored courses, tasters and workshops in different work environments. Recently this included a large lottery funded project delivering mindfulness for stress courses to teachers, social workers and probation officers working with deprived young people in Kent.
Sophie is also a Breathworks Supervisor. She also teaches MBSR, MBCT, MBCT for Life, Mindfulness in Schools Foundations and Nurturing Parents; Mindfulness Wellbeing for Parents courses. Sophie offers one-to-one sessions, in person & online, and has recently been delivering mindfulness to second year university students suffering from stress.
Sophie recently completed an MA in Teaching Mindfulness-Based Approaches from the University of Bangor, for which she was awarded a distinction. The subject of her final thesis was mindfulness for parents of teenagers, partly as a response to what she perceives as a current crisis in adolescent mental health.
Sophie very much enjoys working collaboratively and doing what she can to support others on their own unique journeys with mindfulness.
