Gen Kelsang Togden is a Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre London, with two principal locations in Kensington and Morden, where he offers meditation classes, workshops and retreats.
He began his studies of Modern Buddhism in Toronto, Canada, nearly 30 years ago. Since then he has been a close student of the great Buddhist meditation master and author of international renown, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
Gen Togden realised that Kadampa Buddhism offers a complete path to enlightenment that is uniquely suitable to the people of this modern world and easy to integrate with our busy and often stressful lifestyle. He has been a teacher in numerous countries, including England, the USA, Portugal, New Zealand, throughout South America and even South Korea! He continues to offer lectures, courses and retreats internationally.
As a Buddhist monk and teacher, he is loved and admired by his students because of his practical knowledge and warm presentations, authentic teachings, as well as his natural joy and sense of humour. His cosmopolitan experience, humility, and the ability to touch people’s hearts with Dharma are a great asset to the city of London.
Based on his wealth of life experience and personal understanding of the challenges we all face, Gen Togden has confidence that the teachings of Buddha have the actual power to address our concerns and transform our daily activities into a path to inner peace and enlightenment.
