Dr Cheryl Rezek is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, mindfulness teacher and author who brings a fresh and dynamic approach to how mindfulness and psychological concepts can be integrated into everyone’s life as a way of managing it in the most helpful way. She is a leading light in the field with her work aiming to engage the broader public. Her innovative model (affectionately known as Life Happens) is based on academic knowledge and her extensive clinical experience, and it is regarded as an emerging mindfulness-based multi-dynamic approach.
It encourages awareness of oneself within a context (a biopsychosocial and psychodymanic approach), the development of resilience and skills and the use of mindfulness. She has a longstanding clinical and academic career, she’s lectured, headed doctoral teaching modules, supervised, developed clinical programmes, been head of services, appeared on radio and TV shows as well as run workshops nationally and internationally. She is the author of 8 books on understanding life and managing it including topics involving health conditions such as smoking, managing cancer symptoms, and pain management, as well as mental health issues such as anxiety and depression and the stress of being a carer. Always with an eye on the younger generation, she has written a book for children and developed an exciting and innovative programme for 7 – 11-year-olds, both of which aim to address many of the problems faced by young children.
