Time for the mind

Angie Ward

MindfulnessUk Head of Teacher Training

Angie’s career in Education Health and Social Care spans over 30 years, beginning as a Matron in a special school in 1989 before working with people in social care and children’s and mental health charities. She taught at a Further Education College in 2001 where she gained a Certificate in Education, supported students with additional needs and lectured in Health and Social Care before moving into Training and Development.

Angie works closely with Karen Atkinson and the team at MindfulnessUK where she is Head of Teacher Training. Angie teaches and assesses the Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion (IMC) qualification, is a listed Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Programme teacher, leads the Train the Trainer programme for MindfulnessUK Associate Tutors, supervises Mindfulness teachers, delivers masterclasses for Mindfulness teachers and leads the work with organisations that teach and support children and young people.

Angie’s passion for the benefits of Mindfulness and Compassion continues to grow and she is enjoying utilising the Compassionate Mindful Inquiry Model that Karen Atkinson has developed to enable effective training of many more professionals.

Angie joins us at our Friday Night Wind Down session to help us ‘Dance Ourselves Happy!’. A wonderful opportunity to experience dance with an experienced Mindful and Compassion Teacher and Community Dancer.

Angie’s 45-minute session sparks a curiosity in participants and facilitates everyone’s ability to really sense into their bodies and explore how they truly need to move, moment to moment, with kindness and non-judgement. A safe space for exploration to empower people to understand more about themselves and their connection with others through their experience of music and dance. Expect a warm welcome from Angie and the MindfulnessUK Team, some laughter, joy, positivity, happiness, ease, excitement and whatever else arises!
