Will Young is one of the most well-known and recognisable figures in British contemporary music and the performing art scene.
Since 2002 he has had a career encompassing multi-platinum albums, sell-out live tours, a debut podcast launch, acting in both film and TV, and theatre appearances. From March 2018, he has lead the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Strictly Ballroom the Musical’ in a new role created for the production. Based on the film of the same name, ‘Strictly Ballroom the Musical’ is directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie with Will playing the new role of bandleader Wally Strand. It follows last year’s UK tour of ‘Cabaret’ alongside Louise Redknapp.
Last year, Will also launched his debut podcast series, ‘Homo Sapiens’ – a weekly “in conversation” podcast featuring interviews with a wide range of personalities discussing LGBTQ+ issues which he presents with director Chris Sweeney (named one of The Observer’s '10 Best Podcasts of 2017’). Inspired by BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’, the series includes celebrity guests discussing an eclectic range of LGBTQ+ subjects.
