Ewen Sim is a front line officer in one of the blue light services. His journey into meditation started nearly 20 years when he ventured into the local Buddhist centre and has not looked back since. He has trained as a mindfulness teacher, integrative hypnotherapist, is a Brainspotting therapist and is currently completing his yoga teacher training course and all this while working full time.
Ewen's practice and approach was totally transformed after reading the book the Body Keeps the Score by the trauma specialist Bessel Van der Kolk. Ewen has adopted a trauma sensitive approach to teaching brain, body and breath techniques to calm the nervous system to those who every day, face traumatic incidents and events.
He believes in meeting people where they are at and delivering sessions that are accessible, using an evidential and experiential approach.
Ewen has recently been delivering night shift guerilla mindfulness sessions to fellow officers with a radio in one hand and tingsha bells in the other.
