Angie’s career spans over 20 years, beginning as a Matron in a special school in 1989, then support roles in a range of health and social care settings, charities, schools and colleges. She then qualified as a teacher and lectured in Health and Social Care. Angie is an experienced teacher trainer, having written, delivered and assessed a range of CPD and qualifications for staff.
Angie has benefited from regular meditation for many years and qualified as a Mindfulness Teacher with MindfulnessUK before becoming a Course Tutor, delivering Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion in Professional Practice. Angie is also Developer and Trainer for Minding Your Health – Mindfulness and Compassion Well being Programme for Teaching & Support Staff, Children and Young People. Angie leads for MindfulnessUK on all aspects of partnership work relating to children and young people, including projects and policies with the Mental Health Foundation.
As a parent carer Angie has found developing a daily compassion practice, both for herself and others has proved to be transformative and invaluable. Angie says, “It’s the most valuable practice I have ever learnt, I struggled immensely at first, but I took tiny daily steps and now it’s an integral part of my day, supporting me to be strong when I have to be and rest when I need to.”
Angie’s passion for the benefits of Mindfulness and Compassion continues to grow and she is passionate about teaching this in a practical and accessible way.
