In our modern society, workplaces tend to get increasingly stressful with high demands on staff regarding workload focus and efficiency. By practicing mindfulness in the workplace, we can become increasingly better increase our ability to stay focused on one task for a longer period of time. In addition, mindfulness practice gives us an opportunity to get rid of some of our conditioned ways of looking at life (ourselves, others and situations) resulting in an increased degree of clarity. An additional advantage of a mindfulness practice is an unleashing of our creativity, which is generated when pausing from constant ruminative thinking on a regular basis. Furthermore, mindfulness practice increases our degree of connection with others which leads to more joy, satisfaction and compassion in our workplace and in life in general.
