Kristin Neff is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion over a decade ago. In addition to writing numerous academic articles and book chapters on the topic, she is author of the book "Self-Compassion” published by Hodder in the UK.  In conjunction with her colleague Dr. Chris Germer, she has developed an empirically supported eight-week training program called Mindful Self-Compassion offered by teachers throughout the world (see for details.)  A professional manual for the program and workbook for laypeople will be available from Guilford in Spring 2018.  Kristin and Chris also an offer online self-compassion course called “The Power of Self-Compassion: A Step-by-Step Training Program to Bring Kindness and Inner Strength to Any Moment of Your Life " through Sounds True
